Our Members will come from different countries, professions, cultures and life experiences. Some may be chefs. Some may work in technology, hospitality, marketing, design, finance, trades, languages, administration or creative industries.
That knowledge can become part of Village life.
Members who want to contribute will be able to take part in voluntary skills-sharing, workshops and mentoring activities that help our local Khmer team develop useful, transferable skills.
At the same time, Members have the opportunity to learn about Cambodia, Khmer culture, food, language and everyday life from the people around them.
VillageLife should be a community where knowledge moves in both directions.

The first VillageLife is planned as an approximately 30-villa community in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Members will have the independence of their own private space while sharing the pool, gardens, coworking, meals, activities and everyday rhythm of a small Village.
But the shared space is only part of the idea. VillageLife is about building relationships — between Members, between the local community and the Khmer team that helps make the Village possible.

VillageLife is not designed around anonymous guests arriving and leaving without knowing one another. We want Members to become part of the rhythm of the Village.
That might mean joining a communal dinner, helping organise an activity, sharing professional knowledge, practising English with a Khmer team member, helping someone learn a digital tool, cooking together, joining a local experience or simply being the person who says hello when someone new arrives.
Participation is always voluntary.
The goal is not to keep Members busy. The goal is to make connection easy.
Some weeks you may teach. Some weeks you may learn. Some weeks you may simply enjoy the company. That is VillageLife.
VillageLife Members will bring an extraordinary range of knowledge with them. We want to create simple, voluntary ways for that experience to benefit the people around the Village.
A Member who has spent years working as a chef might help our kitchen team explore new cooking techniques, menu ideas or kitchen workflow.
Someone with hospitality experience might share customer-service or hotel-management knowledge.
A Member working in technology might help someone become more confident with computers and digital tools.
Someone who speaks fluent English might spend time in conversational English sessions.
Others may be able to share experience in marketing, administration, photography, maintenance, design, budgeting, languages, job preparation or other practical areas.
You do not need to be a teacher to contribute. Sometimes sharing what you already know can help someone else take the next step.

We are creating a community where LGBTQ+ Members can live, work and socialise without feeling that they need to hide who they are. VillageLife is also open to friends, allies and people from every background who genuinely support the project's values.
What matters is not who you love.
What matters is how you treat the people around you.
Everybody who joins VillageLife will be expected to respect the Community Code and the people who make the Village possible.
Many people who travel long term have friends scattered across countries and time zones but no regular community around them. VillageLife is designed to give Members something more consistent: familiar faces, shared meals, people who notice when you arrive home, people to work beside and people with whom you can build memories.
Our idea of family is simple: people who choose to care about the community around them.
You can arrive from anywhere. What matters is what you bring to the Village — respect, openness and a willingness to belong.
VillageLife is being built as a sustainable community business with a social purpose. Every Member helps make that purpose possible.
Membership revenue helps us operate the Village, create safe and dignified local jobs, provide accommodation support for qualifying team members and invest in training and long-term skills.
But support is not only financial. Members who want to contribute can also share knowledge, take part in workshops and help us create an environment where the Khmer team can keep learning and developing.
Our initial goal is to create approximately 15–20 local LGBTQ+ employment opportunities at launch, with more opportunities as VillageLife grows. Many people already have valuable hospitality and life experience. VillageLife is about giving good people a stable environment in which those existing skills can be recognised, strengthened and expanded.

A VillageLife Membership is not simply a different way of paying for accommodation. It is a way of belonging to the Village. Your Membership helps sustain the shared spaces, community activities, local employment, staff accommodation and skills-development programs that make VillageLife possible. Members who want to participate more actively will also have opportunities to contribute knowledge, skills and time to suitable Village projects.

We want our Founding Supporters and Founding Members to remain part of VillageLife's story long after the crowdfunding campaign ends. Our planned digital and physical Founders Wall will recognise qualifying supporters who helped give the first Village a home.
Depending on final campaign levels, recognition may include website recognition, a permanent named brick, tile or plaque, Founding Member status and selected future VillageLife benefits.

Depending on a Member's experience, this might include conversational English, hospitality knowledge, culinary skills, customer service, digital tools, marketing, administration, practical skills, mentoring or other useful knowledge. Participation is optional and coordinated through VillageLife so that it remains useful, respectful and appropriate for everyone involved.
No. VillageLife is a community, not a compulsory volunteer program. Members can participate at the level that feels right for them. Simply being a respectful, engaged part of the Village is valuable. Skills sharing and other community contributions are optional.
No. VillageLife remains responsible for employing, managing, supporting and providing appropriate professional training for its team. Member skills-sharing is an additional opportunity for voluntary knowledge exchange — not a replacement for professional management or training.
